The objective of this project is the conservation of the vegetation of up to 17 priority habitats distributed among 38 sites proposed as SCIs in the national list for the Natura 2000 network. To preserve these habitats the following objectives have been established:
1) conservation of vegetation units in danger of extinction such as laurel thickets (habitat 5230)
2) restoration of priority habitats which have undergone a severe decline and are not capable of spontaneous recovery. For instance, Cladium mariscus peat bogs (habitat 7220) in cultivated areas where this habitat was formerly present.
3) Restoration of the structure and floristic composition of sites within priority habitats rich in rare, endangered or endemic flora badly affected by human pressure.
4) Increase of the microrreserve network through the creation of new areas given up to long-term monitoring and conservation of plant communities |
